Personal Summary

Adjunct Professor Breanna Roy teaches Elements of News Writing. She is a news editor in the University Relations department at UM.

Before returning to her alma mater, Roy worked as a broadcast news reporter at KREM-TV in Spokane, Washington, and KPAX-TV in Missoula. She began her career as a production assistant while still in school, operating studio cameras, running the audio board and rolling tapes. She spent summers interning at the St. Cloud Times in St. Cloud, Minnesota, and KELO-TV in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

A Missoula native, Roy graduated from UM with a bachelor’s degree in broadcast journalism and a minor in media arts. She taught multimedia journalism at the American Indian Journalism Institute in Vermillion, South Dakota, and the Crazy Horse Journalism Workshop in Custer, South Dakota.
