Adjunct Professor Sarah Buszmann has a passion for two things: news and developing the next generation of great journalists.
As regional content coordinator for a group of television stations throughout the northwest, Sarah works to develop talent and produce special projects.
She "came up" through the on-air side of things. As an anchor, reporter and producer she had a hand in covering every major story to hit Montana in the last decade. At 27, she was given the unique opportunity to build a news department from the ground up. She helped build a set, recruited a staff and anchored Montana's first HD newscast. She has a deep understanding of what it takes to excel in the news business today and is thrilled to pass that knowledge on to the next generation of journalists.
In her Elements of News Writing course, students gain the bricks needed to lay a great foundation as journalists. They cover everything from commas and quotes to serious ethical issues.
Sarah attended Northwestern University's Medill School of Journalism. She also holds a master's degree in management and leadership from Western Governors University.
Sarah and her husband, Jeff, are proud to call Missoula home. They look forward to raising their two young children to hike the M, fish the 'Root, and cheer on the Griz!
