The Journalism School at the University of Montana is one of the few programs in the country to offer a masters with a specific focus in Environmental Science and Natural Resource Journalism. It’s a hands-on, skills based program that puts journalism students in the field reporting on issues affecting the natural world. Our masters’ candidates produce work for the print media, radio, television and online sites, taking advantage of the proximity to one of the greatest outdoor laboratories on the planet. In addition to learning from a professional journalism faculty with decades of experience, students take courses in the environmental sciences, law, ethics and natural resource policy.
