Convocation kicks off another academic year

Students armed with scavenger-hunt lists roamed Don Anderson Hall in the J-School's inaugural welcome event in August. The pizza party, scavenger hunt and prize presentation brought more than 50 underclassmen to the school to meet faculty and staff, tour the building, and express their creativity.

Freshmen wandered through the TV studio and control room, Kaimin offices, audio editing booths, KBGA College Radio, classrooms and tech-support facilities, grabbing mementos and trying to win prizes. Students won shirts, books and bling for taking the most creative photo and producing the best audio spot. The school took the opportunity to show off its state-of-the-art facility, share the school's history and unveil a brand-new "Montana Journalism" logo.

The marching band swung by later that evening to escort freshmen to the Oval for the formal convocation event. You can see more photos by searching for School of Journalism on Facebook.
