Changing your perspective

Kathy Weber-Bates is a UM alumna and a former broadcast journalist who's now a public relations expert. Students interested in expanding their perspectives on issues such as race, gender and class will find her fall course, Diversity in Media, offers a fascinating examination of how the news media portray groups and individuals that exist outside of mainstream culture. It will also provide useful strategies for more accurately and fairly covering an eclectic array of populations.

JRNL 201 is a 3-credit class that will meet this fall on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons from 3:40 to 5 in Don Anderson Hall room number 301.
