J-School students win several regional SPJ Awards

UM J-School students added to their collection of awards from the Society of Professional Journalists this weekend. The school can boast of several winners and finalists from the region 10 SPJ Mark of Excellence awards.

“We at the J-School know our students are outstanding, but it’s wonderful to have a group like SPJ confirm just how amazing they are,” said Dean Larry Abramson. “These awards make Dean Stone week that much sweeter. Congratulations to everyone.”

Region 10 includes Montana, Alaska, Idaho, Washington and Oregon. With more than 10,000 students, UM competes in the “Large” school categories. First-place winners will move on to the national Mark of Excellence competition among category winners from the 12 SPJ regions.
